Beautiful little demitasse set made by the Palissy Pottery Company of England. The company was owned by Jones and Sons in Stoke on Trent who named the company in honor of 16th century potter Bernard Palissy who created palissy ware.
This set features a scene from the River Thames as seen from the Ladye Palace of Hurley Berkshire which is taken from the print made in 1835 by William Tombleson. Very cute set with alot of history attached to it. This cup has survived to continue to share it’s history. Two little fleabites along the rim which is understandable due to age (photo #9).
